We know that Beets(Beetroot) are healthy – just the color speaks for itself. Having said that, for most of us, something has to also taste good – I wouldn’t be able to gobble a food immediately, just because it is healthy. Therefore, to make sure it tastes well and we develop a liking for Beets, I started using them in recipes like Beet Chutney, Beets & Tomato Soup, and Beets Rice.
This Beet juice is our family favorite, especially our three-year-old’s. The punch in the recipe is from ginger and dates!
Health Benefits of Beets Juice
Beets have a rich color and are rich in antioxidants – let’s go over quickly about antioxidants before diving into the recipe. Shall we? Our bodies release energy by something called ‘Oxidative metabolism’, which produces free radicals as a by-product. These free radicals can damage the body’s cells and tissues. Antioxidants neutralize these very free radicals; therefore, it is good to include them in our daily diets: Read 10 healthy foods to eat everyday, which contain anti-oxidants too!
Beets are shown to be rich in Nitrate and Folate, among others. Therefore, Beets can help in fighting with cardiovascular diseases and lowering blood pressure.
